SIGMA OEM Expands into Renewable Energy Sector

SIGMA OEM is expanding into the Power and Energy sector to serve the fast-growing Renewable Energy market. After 38 years of pioneering success as a global manufacturer serving the waterworks, construction, utilities, and industrial markets, renewable energy was a natural next step. 

Now, SIGMA Power and Energy is rapidly expanding its range of components and assemblies, supplying to customers in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry, Solar Power Generation and Energy Storage systems.  

To help a new Solar Tracker OEM, SIGMA converted steel fabrications to ductile iron castings to reduce costs and develop sufficient capacity. Ajay Roy, General Manager, comments, “Our manufacturing capability enabled us to deliver quality components in a timely fashion at a competitive price. Although renewable energy is a new area for us, we have served the OEM sector for years and there are many parallels. We had the infrastructure, the long-standing established relationships, the global manufacturing experience and the expertise to expand the supply chain in this direction and meet the growing demand.” 

Initial entries into the renewable energy (RE) industry were generated through referrals, other customers, and adjacent sectors where SIGMA OEM has operated successfully for decades. Building on these initial successes, SIGMA Power and Energy attended a regional RE+ trade show in Boston in February 2023 in conjunction with a supplier of solar panel mounting structures. The show afforded greater exposure to the marketplace, and the new division continues to grow.   

The SIGMA Power and Energy team just returned from the RE+ National trade show in Las Vegas, where they made connections with many fellow RE professionals. RE+ is the largest renewable energy Expo in the USA, hosting 1300 exhibitors and 27,000 attendees, and SIGMA Power and Energy was honored to participate.   

Because SIGMA OEM has a proven track record in manufacturing, sourcing, and supplying components for a wide range of industries, we are able to impart that on to Renewable Energy components, with a broad range of products – from components in Iron, Brass and Aluminum Castings, Steel and Brass Forgings, Steel Fabrications, Electrical Control Boxes, Solar Combiner Boxes, Enclosures and Sub-assemblies for Battery Storage systems.
