SIGMA OEM Addressed the Growing Demand in Renewable Energy

SIGMA OEM’s new Power and Energy Division is now a key supplier in the renewable energy market. With an escalating emphasis on green energy and sustainability, the renewable energy market has emerged as a significant and rapidly growing source of power on a global scale, and SIGMA OEM has leveraged our 40 years in the global sourcing arena to meet the increasing demand in this sector.

In today's world, renewable energy stands as one of the three primary sources of energy. Fossil fuels, the most prevalent of the three, account for the majority of the total global energy consumption. However, fossil fuel collection is detrimental to the environment, is non-renewable, and is both capital and labor intensive. Nuclear energy, while contributing significantly to the global energy mix, shares similar drawbacks, including its capital and labor-intensive processes, non-renewable nature, and the grave concern of toxic hazardous waste disposal.

Renewable energy, encompassing wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass sources, is experiencing a noteworthy increase in its global market share, driven by several compelling factors. First and foremost, as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional energy sources, the environmental benefits are substantial. In addition, renewable energy is less capital-intensive than fossil fuel or nuclear energy production. However, perhaps the most crucial aspect is its renewability—it delivers a sustainable energy solution for the long term. Most of the elements associated with renewable energy can be recycled or replaced, ensuring that nothing ends up in landfills. This commitment to a sustainable and circular approach further enhances the appeal and viability of renewable energy sources.

The collection of renewable energy is also far simpler than the processes and methods required for fossil or nuclear sources. Solar panels or wind turbines are much less intrusive than nuclear power plants, oil drilling operations, or coal mines. Currently, the renewable energy sector faces a significant capacity gap, and this is driving additional manufacturing and supply.

With the soaring demand for various renewable energy components ranging from solar panels to mounting structures, wind turbines, gearboxes, brakes, hubs, and numerous other products, SIGMA OEM is well positioned to deliver many of these essential products. With four decades of experience as a respected global supplier and strong domestic and international partnerships, we guarantee our customers the highest quality and most reliable service.

Because we have boots on the ground at all of our facilities, customers can rest assured that every aspect of the manufacturing and logistics process will be handled with utmost professionalism. From raw material procurement to design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, SIGMA OEM stands as an industry leader. Moreover, backed by SCI, a $500million global corporation, we have the capacity and scale to manage end-to-end logistics and supply chain including manufacturing, quality, shipping, currency fluctuation, customs procedures, containers, and various other logistics complexities. These value-added services significantly mitigate risk for our customers.

The collection, storage, and distribution of renewable energy are pivotal stages in the energy ecosystem, and SIGMA OEM provides components for all steps in this process.  Our comprehensive range of products already developed for different OEM’s include specialty hardware, castings, fabrications, stampings, clamps, and forgings essential for pole line infrastructure.

SIGMA OEM’s products are manufactured to exact customer specification, and can be fabricated of iron, brass, copper, aluminum, and steel. Notably, iron and steel components undergo galvanization—coated with zinc for optimal corrosion protection against environmental elements. SIGMA OEM is also equipped to provide tin plating and silver plating as required. Our casting processes include sand casting, shell molding, gravity die casting (GDC), and pressure die casting (PDC), ensuring a diverse array of manufacturing capabilities.

SIGMA OEM’s proven experience in fabricating sheet metal enclosures, which are crucial for battery containment, is a key differentiator in our sourcing service. The battery enclosures consist of various fabricated components, and SIGMA OEM’s expertise in this space has been extremely well received by numerous key OEM’s.

With a proven track record and ample manufacturing capacity, SIGMA is well equipped to meet the demands of this specialized production.

The new generation of battery operated off-road electric vehicles is another growing segment for battery storage enclosures. SIGMA is well equipped to develop and supply various enclosures, counterweights, and related components to service this market segment. As renewable energy becomes more dominant, the requirement is increasing for enclosures designed to house batteries and monitor systems. These act as storage units until the energy is channeled into the grid.

Enclosures play a vital role in safeguarding and preserving batteries, ensuring optimal temperature, safe conditions, proper pressure, and low humidity levels. Additionally, SIGMA possesses the capability to assemble auxiliary systems and deliver a comprehensive unit in accordance with the Customer’s Bill of Material, offering a complete solution for renewable energy storage enclosures.

SIGMA OEM also supplies components and assemblies for pole line hardware, transformers, combiner boxes, electrical switches, fab steel mounting structures, and various enclosures tailored for the transmission and distribution industry.

By actively engaging and entering this sector now, SIGMA is strategically positioned to support US manufacturers in their pursuit of green energy solutions. Specific components and fabrications crucial for capturing, storing, and distributing renewable energy are not manufactured in the US, and this is precisely the niche that SIGMA can expertly fill. Leveraging nearly four decades of proven manufacturing experience in emerging markets, we have established enduring partnerships with trusted suppliers who can efficiently and economically deliver these products to domestic customers. Our sourcing service enables our customers in the US to advance their green energy projects with confidence. There is significant synergy between SIGMA OEM and many contract manufacturers, battery storage system distributors, and installers, and we will continue to expand our customer base across the growing green energy sector.

The extensive reach and infrastructure of SIGMA OEM instills confidence and delivers convenience. Our logistics network spans the entirety of the North American continent, facilitating prompt access to inventory and offering tailored service models such as just-in-time (JIT) inventory management, direct delivery, vendor-managed inventory, or consignment, based on customer preferences.

We are engaging with the best and brightest in the industry to ensure that we are delivering what is needed to advance green initiatives throughout North and South America.

To further advance our position as a leader in renewable energy, SIGMA has recently become a member of SEIA (Solar Energy Industries Association), the national non-profit trade association representing the solar-energy industry in the United States. Additionally, we’re honored to join SEPA (Smart Electric Power Alliance), a non-profit organization that envisions a carbon-free energy system that is safe, affordable, reliable, resilient and equitable.  As we move forward, our commitment to advancing green initiatives and providing innovative solutions to the renewable energy market remains unwavering. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to collaborating with like-minded organizations and individuals to accelerate the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
